CHDS Capabilities

CHDS has constructed a cloud-based platform powered by multiple years of aggregated health claims records, along with an infrastructure capable of integrating provider and prescribing data, and integrating other forms of information such as social determinant, survey, and customized information from users/clients.   This platform is known as GARI – Geo-mapping Advocacy Research Informatics.

GARI allows users to query a data warehouse to view population heat maps based on a variety of characteristics such as a specific disease, co-morbidities, demographics, and geographic locations down to the zip code level.  This aggregated information can also be presented in chart and table formats plus exported for additional analysis. CHDS users can search information by using an intuitive point-and-click interface to select filters and easily construct the output for reports and publications.  Statistics rendered to a map, table or chart create observations about health care prevalence, patient count, costs, and utilization among other findings.

The collection of already aggregated and de-identified health data is warehoused on Amazon Web Services HIPPA-compliant cloud platform, curated with reliable open source software, and processed through search filters defined and validated by thought leaders, statisticians, data scientists, and software engineers.  The GARI platform framework utilizes modern web and cloud technologies to aggregate, encrypt, store, analyze, secure, and render results to authorized users with features to manage individual password-controlled access.
